Bradley E. Richards


Bradley Richards is Professor of Computer Science at the University of Puget Sound. He holds B.A. degrees in Physics and Computer Science, an M.Sc. in Computer Science, and earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin — Madison, where his research was on custom memory-system support for distributed shared-memory parallel computers. In addition to his continuing work on parallel and distributed computing, Dr. Richards is active in Computer Science education, having authored numerous papers on pedagogy and curricular issues. He is a member of the Liberal Arts Computer Science Consortium (LACS), served as Information Director for the ACM Journal on Educational Resources in Computing, and was a member of a Pedagogy Focus Group that made recommendations to the ACM/IEEE Computing Curriculum 2001 committee. Dr. Richards has managed successful NSF CCLI and MRI grants, both of which demonstrated an ability to involve undergraduate students in research.
